Broken Marriages Are No Longer New: says Nigeria Actress

Nollywood actress Funmi Babalola has expressed her views on broken marriages as well as the secret of her beauty.


In an exclusive chat with The Sun, the model and fashion designer-turned-actress said her parents were initially not okay with her choice of acting as a profession. But her passion for the arts ensured she stuck to her guns.
“I have passion for acting. It has always been my heart’s desire. Right from my childhood days, I have always been attracted to the silver screen,” she said.
“[But] initially they were not pleased,” she said of her parents’ reaction to her acting.
She recounts that they let her continue upon seeing what she could achieve with the profession.
When they saw that every­thing was turning around for my good, they supported me. And I can say their prayers have kept me going.”
On the issue of relationship troubles and broken marriages in Nollywood, she disclosed that it isn’t a problem limited to the film industry alone.
“Broken marriages are ev­erywhere; it is not only in the movie industry, so the most important thing is that one is happy,” she explained.
Funmi Babalola is mostly remembered for her role in the movie Ebu Ika.
She is a native of Iwo, Osun state. On her good looks she revealed that there wasn’t any special secret behind it.
“It’s God’s doing and as the Lord lives, my beauty will continue to shine,” she said.
Though not single she highlighted the features in her dream man as vision, intelligence and generousity.
